I'm Aaron - the face of Double A Consulting - a specialist service to support charities develop and grow their corporate partnership programmes. Corporate fundraising brings so many benefits to charities, not least a sustainable source of much needed income, when managed correctly, that can elevate a charity's growth and greatly improve its services to support its beneficiaries.
For me though, having spent the best part of my working life working at various charities, in fundraising and partnership roles, I really found my niche in corporate partnerships.
My experience began at the British Red Cross in a community fundraising capacity, raising nearly £20k in a 3-month internship.
My big-break in corporate partnerships began at Blind Veterans UK, securing a £100k capital appeal donation from Lions International, despite being in the community and events fundraising team. It just goes to show how important stewardship is, as it can inevitably lead to even greater opportunities.
Further experience led me to winning a charity of the year partnership with the Red Arrows at The RAF Benevolent Fund, worth £25k, as well as winning and managing a 3-month campaign with the Lincolnshire Co-op, generating nearly £80k in corporate fundraising throughout stores in the region.
Fast forward to 2023 and I established new partnerships with Premier Mist (worth £10k), McDonalds in setting up new Premier League Kicks sessions in Beeston (benefitting young people at risk of crime and unemployment) at the Leeds United Foundation. I generated sponsorship and gifts in kind with brands including McLaren Leeds and won a charity of the year partnership with the Yorkshire Choice Awards worth £13k.
More recently at The Bikeability Trust, I successfully renewed our brand partnership with NatWest Rooster Money worth £50k as well as helping generate gifts in kind worth £40k in 2024.
